Project Overview

As part of the new Business Change Hub, the Service Design Team are carrying out a review into Children’s Social Care Admin. The initial 12 week Discovery project is focusing on the Admin teams and Business Manager within Children’s Social Care. We were asked to do the review as the Admin teams were constantly ‘firefighting’, impacting the ability of the Business Manager to carry out strategic tasks. We were also asked to review caseloads through the Hubs to understand why numbers were higher than expected.




Discovery aims: To identify problem areas and tasks for Admin and the Business Manager within Children’s Social Care, with a view to make these easier and more consistent across teams. We have identified 14 opportunities which now need to be prioritised to decide which ones will be taken forward to Alpha.





Working Agile: A 12 week Discovery broken down into 6 x 2 week sprints, with a slight pause over the Christmas period. At the end of each 2 week sprint an open ‘Sprint Review’ meeting is held - a briefing on the preceding sprint’s activities and outputs and an opportunity for attending stakeholders to ask questions and provide feedback.
